In the wireless communication realization process, the antenna is the essential component, and RFID uses the radio wave to carry on the transmission of information, the generation and reception of the radio wave all need to realize through the antenna. When the electronic label enters the read-write antenna working area range, the electronic label antenna will produce enough induction current, so as to obtain the energy to be activated.

For RFID system, the antenna is a vital part, it is closely related to the performance of the system.

At present, according to the antenna wire material, material structure and manufacturing process and other aspects of the difference, RFID tag antenna can be roughly divided into the following categories: etched antenna, printing antenna, wire-wound antenna, additive antenna, ceramic antenna, etc., the most commonly used antenna manufacturing process is the first three.

1. Etching method

Etching method is also known as imprinting corrosion method, first in a substrate carrier covered with a layer of about 20mm thickness of copper or aluminum, in addition to produce a screen printing plate of the antenna anode, screen printing way will resist printed on the surface of copper or aluminum, and thus protect the lower part of the copper or aluminum from corrosion, and the rest of the part of the corrosive agent is dissolved.

However, due to the chemical erosion reaction used in the etching process, there are problems of long process flow, waste water and waste water, easy to pollute the environment, so the industry has been trying to find a better alternative.

2. Printed antenna

Direct antenna circuit with special conductive ink or silver paste, printing or printing on the substrate above, more mature is gravure printing or screen printing. Screen printing in a certain degree of cost savings, but its ink using about 70% of the high silver content of conductive silver paste, to get between 15 to 20 um antenna, belongs to the thick film printing method, high cost.

3. Coil-wound antenna

Copper wire winding RFID tag antenna manufacturing process is usually completed using an automatic winding machine, that is, directly on the substrate carrier film wound coated with insulating varnish, and the use of low melting point baking varnish of the copper wire as the substrate of the RFID tag antenna, and finally the use of adhesives on the wire and substrate for mechanical fixation, and in accordance with the requirements of the different frequencies, winding of a certain number of turns
